Colors Of VCD

Color Project

Color Assignment :
In this project students are expected to make a design reflecting their feeling and toughts about Visual Perception-1 class using colors.

I preferred to use real life objects in this project, there are three glasses filled with water.
Then recorded their movements on video while dropping about 10-12
drops of colored ink which are red green and blue.

Videos are arranged one in front of other, with using difference effect.
Difference effect subtracts one color from another with the numerical value of front color.
This causes very colorful and dynamic look.

Legend :
Attandance = red
Relation = green (my relation with that person)
Grade = blue

Finally, person with low attandance, grade and relation is displayed with colder
colors. In contrast highger values causes warmer colors. When parameters are not proportional, results cannot be categorized as warmer-hardorker, cooler-lazy or something like that.

See it in action!

Internet As A Memory

Internet As A Memory

This project aims to indicate the resemblance of human memory and internet data storage. Like our brain, when a keyword is given such as food, car or fashion, the net memory associates it with images as it has in it’s memory which is the net itself.

These keywords are shortcuts and referance points to an image or data.
The images on internet updates and changes by the time with our social and cultural movements.
Internet can be determined as semi-organic memory storage.

Project adopted from my earlier project Delicious Tag Clouds. First difference is our approach to this representation and second one is API. We have used Yahoo Image API instead of delicious.

Search results can match or not with our memories. This shows possible different image-keyword relationships between one and another.
Special thanks to: Berkan, Deniz and Saygin.

Delicious Tag Clouds
I have been switched to delicious from my local bookmark manager. This social bookmarking and its API makes sense!. I love tag clouds, rainbow and sun : )

This cloud visiolisation made using delicious api, this beta version does not fetches results directly ftom delicious, it uses xml files which has been written using modifed version of Delicious PHP Api.

The reason behind this is connection problem using HTTP Basic Authentication with flash AS2 like: https://username:password@del.icio.us

If anyone knows how to do this please comment on this post. Also this sample is not working with secure connection (https)
Related : Mike Chambers ActionScript 3 library for the del.icio.us online API.

Flash 8 Dynamic Motion Blur Experience

After launch of Macromedia Studio 8 last week, i have started to dig some new features of Flash 8, and started with dynamic blur effects. In this experience randomly generated numbers flying with motion blur effect according to mouse location. I am inspired from my older Flying circles script.
*Click anywhere to change colors
If you can’t see any number, motion, or blur :) you need to upgrade to Flash Player 8

XML Based Flash Dictionary

This is mini flash xml dictionary.
I made this dictionary to use in e-learning courses.
Letters, words, and descriptions are written in xml file, and easy to modify for different purposes.
In this demo close button and dragging option intentionally inactivated, this is useful when dictionary is loaded from external .swf file.

Letters, words and descriptions are taken from slang dictionary. Only A, B, C and D is filled rest and the rest is empty.
